PvE is teh pwnsauce. That's like asking PvPers to be able to visit Tyria. When you decided to be a brainless PvP whiner (well not all of you, but in the case of many of the people who ask for this sorta thing), you signed your soul over to not focusing on glamor. If you wanna look awesome, play the awesome half of GW.

I know that sounds PvP-biased, but the principle still takes place. It's like "let us visit LA lul mayb 2 mak it fair make it cost 50k balth faction".

No. Just no.

They should add GW:EN armors to PvP though, I admit that.

You guys don't understand that I or We don't want to show of or boast around. We just want to customise our characters as we want so they may look special and pvp won't be just a clone wars.

Now to all of you "pve pr0" - pvp characters CAN wear FoW armors and have Tormented Weapons... so why do you care if we wear also chaos gloves (this was an example anywaysm I found it nice name for this topic)? Will that destroy your fun of playing?
Why don't pvp players who practice every day deserve a simple character customisation?

And why are you so angry? I know that pvp and pve players were always flaming echother but come on, can't you just lose it?

Make love not war!

AP claims they're working on adding EotN skins to Tolkano. I presume that includes the specialty armors.

This thread turned into a PvE vs. PvP debate pretty quickly considering this realy has nothing at all to do with the PvE aspect of the game. I myself am a PvE player and I find it sad that some people's egos are so overgrown as to call getting the cash for w/e elite item they want "work" while saying that farming tourny points for the same items is not. And what's to say PvP players focus on max effeciency and nothing else? Go watch any rated GvG match and see how many unique skins you see people weilding (I know alot of those chars were made in PvE, but they were made there for a reason). Is it a crime to want your character to look good? If you let them have their chaos gloves through PvP means, that's more ectos on the market for you to get them.

Well at some level of your skill after improving your skill over the months (let's say... 6 or more) and hundrets of hours spent on practicing one proffesion, and if you have good guild (about top 50) earing 300rp (which is my proposition for chaos gloves price) shouldn't take you longer than a week. Of course your guild has to play at least 1 at per day and be in top 3 on this at. See? You've got to be hardcore player to get this... that "fast".
(on gvg, I'm not HB player so I don't know how long it takes)

Even a hardcore pvper would take time simply because u can not farm rp whenever you want. You must make AT times play and be sucessful, while pve is open to you whenever you have time, big difference.
...and here's the answer... I think I don't have to comment that

I get enough money from pvping that I could buy several pairs of chaos gloves if I wanted. However, because I spend all of my time pvping instead of pveing, I don't have pve characters that have access to all map locations or the titles needed to obtain the GWEN items.

I'm not saying that they should be easy for PvPers to obtain the more expensive items, but there should be some way for us to have access to the armor. Pvers aren't the only people who purchased GWEN.

Your right, I don't know how long it takes, because I do not do tourneys. Why don't you enlighten us? Also I did not realize that once armor is unlocked, it is character based, not account based.

If that is the case, what would be a fair price?

I think he means if pvpers dont farm ectos, ectos become more scarce on the market making thier price rise and in turn making your drop worth more. K thnx.

your right, a hardcore farmer can make 400K rather easy, but I would say an average player who plays about 2 hrs a day could finish GW:EN is about a week to two weeks, and earn 400K in about a month. So to put a price on it, chaos glove would be 200RP, destroyer glove: 250RP, Fow armor, don't know the current RP price. Destroyer cores drop like ecto's drop, but ecto's can be bought from merchants, as cores can not.

Im pretty amazed this thread is exploding. I've never cared a single bit about pve items and the looks of my chars have always been good regardless of items. It isn't even worthy to discuss the need of some randomass armor (which i thought) noone cares about.

Yeah because PvE is totally about skill and not about build. Also this is completely relevant to the topic i agree.

Not entirely sure what I'm supposed to be jealous or envious about (certainly not the obligatory e-peen needed to PvP) and can't see how wanting PvE only rewards is greedy (can you say Zaishen Chest?)...

PvP did take skill, back in the day, before the profusion of sinsplit build took over . Nowadays, the only skill involved is being able to set up a Vent server. I appreciate that there are PvP guilds out there who really try very hard to create and run balanced team builds, and hats off to them, but then they aren't the ones complaining that they can't get pretty things for their avatars. Someone said farming 400k is easier than farming 300 RP...I thought the whole point of PvP was to prove your skill, not to farm? Hypocrisy doesn't suit...

Oh, and before you flame me some more Bonhart, I used to PvP regularly in a decent guild before Anet broke everything, so I do know what I'm talking about

Well thank you cause my current guild is running balanced only.

I don't want to flame you cause that's not the point. The problem is you still didn't get one thing. The point of pvp indeed is to show the skill but tell me why do you think that showing your skill and desire of looking well contradict each other? Why do you farm to get chaos gloves, fow or whatever item you want? To customise your character to your needs and taste. And that's my point. Reward good pvp players, do you think that they haven't deserved to make their characters look better just because they don't like to farm or go through the storyline or farm this goddamn deldimor title? Don't be so egoistic

But I think they should make cost proportionate to the cost in PvE. I.e. they should cost more than fissure armor pieces cost in RPs. Chaos gloves should be something silly like 500 RPs. After all.. chaos gloves are 75e. If you (could) craft a whole set of chaos armor, that'd be several hundred ecto O_O

If only because then it'd only be right for PvE players to have emotes for their pathetic PvE accomplishments, and truthfully, they don't deserve them, just like my fellow PvP players shouldn't

a. have chaos gloves

b. give a flying RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO about whether they have them or not.

Dealing with just the topic:

For my pve mesmer, I've had every mesmer armor set in the game .......it's just armor. It has no added bonus.
Dealing with pve vs pvp:

Lets flip it around. if the gloves had ONLY came out in pvp , what would the response be to allowing pve players access to it via a trader/seller?

As said earlier, to me it's just a piece of armor and the type of armor someone wears DOES NOT define skill. (i also argue titles don't define skill)

The "unlock this skill (item) in pve and get it in pvp" would be cool for this i think.

But when it comes down to it, the only requirement needed should be to own GWEN......

I cannot believe people persist too say that pve items are harder to obtain than items through rp, is that even a question. I farmed fow in 1 month, 2 hours a day when ectos were 9k, there is no way to god i can get pvp fow in even 3 months if I wanted too. As for me using the term farming, it was simply used because I was asked how long it would take to obtain the rp IF you farmed. RP is a reflection of skill, if you say it isnt lets see you get first in an AT lol.
